Super Nintendo Game of the Month:

http://garetro.com/Blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/earthbound1.jpg

Earthbound is one of the popular titles that made the Super Nintendo a hit. It is an RPG style with an 8 bit gaming feel to it. With a simple layout, you get hooked into the action right away. Although the fights scenes are lacking, the set up and story of where Ness came from make up for it. If you've ever wondered how Ness got into the Smash Bros. Melee series, I recommend that you try Earthbound and find out!

Gamer Quote of the Week

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times. I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is the way I succeed.

Black Ops 2 vs. MW3

Black Ops 2 has graphics which are less than superb.  MW3 definitely outperformed Black Ops 2 when it comes to graphics and weapon controls.  However, Black Ops 2 has maps which do not compete with MW3 like nuketown.  MW3 is still my favorite of the COD games.  To me survival is much better than zombies.  Just a preference.  Comment and let us know what you think...

The legend of Spyro

Spyro is the best game for one's childhood.  I remember playing this as a kid.  So many factors in playing the game.  The main objective is freeing dragons or collecting eggs.  Just when you thought you beat the game.  Good news, you have to go back and find all the gems (dragon coinage).  Here is some advice go buy a ps2 and the 3 first spyro games.  You will not regret it.

P.S. This post only refers to the first 3 original spyro games!

Evolution of pokemon: Pokemon! Pokemon... Pokemon? POKEMON!!!!!!!!

The title pretty much sums it up.  Pokepeople are going pokecrazy of the new pokemon x and pokemon y games estimated to come out this fall.  Prices of all previous games are on the rise.  (NOW is a great time to sell).  Even N64 fans are finding themselves at used game shops looking for pokemon stadium or pokemon stadium 2.

Playstation or Xbox?

The PS3 recently has surpassed Xbox360 in sales.  Well it's about time.  The PS3 is by far the better gaming system.  Graphics, free internet access, notable games such as Twisted Metal all give Playstation the cryptic unrivaled edge.  It is a simple case of simplicity and the bandwagon effect.  People use Xbox360s because Microsoft is incredibly talented at advertising and efficiency.  From the power button to the gameplay and Xbox360 is the camaro of the game world.  Simply luxurious.  The PS3 is more like a ferrari that has not made it to far out of the garage... yet.  With playstation increasing in sales and a new gaming system coming out.  We will have to wait and see who can surpass the other.

Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam, Putt Putt, and Spy Fox: Lost Treasures

Putt Putt was a game of strategy, mini games, and pure childhood skill.  How else were you going to help all the animals at the zoo, fly to the moon or win the race.  Whether it was collecting bottles, mowing lawns, or handing in bottles to be recycled Putt Putt was the most hard working determined animated character of his time.

Freddie, Freddie, Freddie.  The Fish that you could always count on to save the day.  him and his companions collected urchins, maneuvered through obstacles and swam like no other.  Sure brings back some fun memories.

Pajama Sam was the sleepiest of all these characters.  Always seemed to be saving the night past his bedtime.  Throwing rocks into buckets, finding the flashlight, and fighting evil were all on his to do list.  Fun times.

Spy Fox was a game of mystery and strategy.  Find the clues, complete objectives, and try to enjoy the little mini games along the way.  What a sly spy.

Minecraft

It happens to a lot of us: you sit down to play for, say, five minutes. The game loads and -- woah, it's been an hour. Oops. Plenty of games can draw in players like this - it's probably a good thing, it means they're good. Minecraft, for example, can envelope players so completely that they might care more about their character being hungry than their own next meal. They might spend hours traversing the landscape without actually getting up and getting some quick exercise. This raises a question: is Minecraft dangerous? Maybe, but when you see creations like:

, you have to consider the game's ability to inspire creativity, problem solving and dedication to large projects in its players.

Pokemon HeartGold

Pokemon is a great series of games and one of my personal favorites. Above all the games in the series, my favorite has to be the old version of this game Pokemon Gold Version. The Game came out on October 14th, 2000 in the United States and quickly sold millions of copies. It was the first Pokemon game where I completed my Pokedex and I just about spent all my time on it when I played it. So in the name of nostalgia, I am going to do a play through Pokemon Heart Gold and will comment on my play through. Sort of like my first written let's Play!
